The mini-light does not come with any instructions. It's not very complicated, but you are expected to figure it out for yourself. The light did not work at first. There is a piece of plastic that fits inside to house the batteries. My husband figured out that the springs underneath where you install the batteries were a little bit off on their location and not making contact with the batteries. He adjusted the springs slightly with a screw driver, and we have had no further problem with the product not turning on. However, I bought the product thinking that I would be able to see where my cat was peeing on my floral patterned couch and pillows. The product works very well on my light colored carpet, although any lint, paper, etc. will also glow, so you might want to vacuum before using. The light did not show well at all on my dark blanket or patterned pillows. I would recommend the product if you are looking for stains on light colored carpet or fabrics. If you are looking for stains on dark or highly patterned carpet or fabric, it won't really work.
