I was very hopeful for this product. Being that the reviews are so mixed, I was hoping that I would be one of the "lucky" ones to find that the product worked well. I followed the directions and used my black light to locate the dirty spots. I had waited until it was dark and then turned off all of the lights so that I could have optimum darkness to be able to see the spots with the included black light. I had no problem finding the spots and sprayed them liberally as directed. I noticed a pleasant smell right away. However, a couple of hours later, the room absolutely reeked! The smell was worse than the previous ammonia smell. I ended up having to clean the carpet in the room to get rid of the smell. I have since invested in a SpotBot carpet cleaner and make my own cleaner using vinegar, water, and a few drops of dish soap. A much better use of my time and investment.
