Customer Review: Ah, Now I can recreate those wonderful defunt F.W. Wooworth Crustless hot dog buns

A great pan, allowing you to recreate those awesome old F. W. Woolworth CRUST LESS HOT DOG BUNS. I remember sitting at the lunch counter with Mom and Grand-mom, waiting for my hot dog, on a toasted hot dog bun. The buns were nearly crust-less. The cook would butter both top and bottom, lay them on the grill, and lightly toast the bun, while the hot dog grilled right beside the bun. Then, right before the hot dog went on, the cook would lightly butter the inside of the bun and toast that too. Talk about a taste explosion! Alas, in the 1970's and 1980's we started loosing the American Icon, F. W. Woolworth, along with them, their wonderfully tasty luncheon counters. The food was basic, GOOD and done RIGHT. But what I miss most of all, are these toasted HOT DOG buns and the MALTED MILKS. Ask a teen today if they would like a Malted Milk, you get a reply of, "Huh, what's a Malted Milk". Today's generation has no Idea of what good FAST FOOD IS! Everything is mass produced and the same nation, even world wide. Gone are these awesome tasty treats from a simpler time. But now I can make my own Buns, I don't have to import them at great cost from the East Coast. Thank You Amazon! Buy this pan, make your own dough, or thaw one of those frozen loafs and fit it to the pan, carefully cut the buns apart, butter the bare sides slowly toast and ENJOY a GREAT HOT DOG!!!!!

The USA Pans New England Hot Dog Pan is constructed of aluminized steel, the material of choice for commercial bakeries. Hot Dog Pan measures 15 x 6 x 1.5 inch. Provides space to make 10 buns. This pan is not only perfect for hot dog buns; it's also great for making hoagies and rolls. The metal thickness of this pan has been selected to allow for even heat distribution and maximum service life. No need for messy and unhealthy oil and grease. This pan is coated with Americoat. Americoat is a proprietary silicone coating. It provides a clear, non-stick, non-toxic baking surface, specially formulated for superior baking. It's FDA approved; it does not contain PTFE's or PFOA's. It is not recommended to exceed baking temperature of 400 degrees F. Easy care. To clean, simply wipe clean after use; soap and water are okay to use. It is not recommended that pan be washed in dishwasher because harsh chemicals can cause the non-stick material to breakdown in time. Dry pan completely, after cleaning.
