Customer Review: Perfect frame for our purposes

We were looking for a frame for our daughter's twin mattress. It needed to be high enough off the ground to fit drawers underneath, and still look good. Her room is tiny (9x9), with very little storage space, so we wanted good-sized drawers to hold her toys and clothes. I looked at a lot of cheap particle board mate's beds, but they seemed as though they wouldn't hold up for more than a couple of years, and the drawers were so small. We purchased this twin frame with the matching under-bed drawers, and my husband and I were so impressed I felt the need to write a review. It is an OUTSTANDING frame, and the drawers are beautiful (and very spacious).
What I love about this frame:
-Very easy to put together. My daughter and I tackled the drawers, and my husband put the bed frame together. We had everything together in about 30 minutes (and we're not exceptionally handy).
-Very sturdy. The frame doesn't wobble or bend, even when the kids are climbing all over it or when we're all sitting on the bed for story time.
-Unfinished. We can paint it or stain it any way we want to.
-Appearance. It looks great even unfinished - it's really a beautiful frame that fits with any style of decorating.
-Matching, very large drawers. The drawers are fantastic. They are so sturdy (even a bit on the heavy side), but the wheels are so well made, our 3.5 year old daughter can easily roll the drawers in and out on her own with no problem, on carpet. They fit her entire wardrobe and all of her dolls and stuffed animals and larger toys.
-Price. What a bargain for the quality. The particle board beds with 6-inch drawers were more expensive than this frame+drawers combo.
Things to be aware of (not necessarily detractors):
-Because there is so much clearance for good-sized drawers, the bed sits pretty high. Our daughter has to climb up by stepping on her bean bag (and she's pretty tall - 75th percentile for height).
-For a 34-lb kid, the issue of the mattress resting on slats isn't a big deal. However, we'll definitely need to put down some peg board as she gets bigger to provide more support for the mattress.
-The drawers have slats in the bottom, which means you need to put down cardboard or something to keep small-ish things from falling out (kid clothes, toys, etc.... it wouldn't be an issue with, say, adult-size sweaters).
-This is probably obvious from the pictures and description, but the drawers don't fit into the bed - they're separate entities and have no connection to the bed frame.
Overall, I'd buy this bed again in a heartbeat. We spent months looking for something like this and I'm so glad we found it. It was exactly what we needed for my daughter's room, and we're so impressed with the quality and space in the drawers, we're thinking about getting one of these frames for our room, too.
