Customer Review: Cracked after less than a year

I am not sure how it even happened, but I just washed this and noticed that I now have a hole a 1mm in diameter and spider cracks going all the way up to the rim of my mug on both sides. It looks like someone literally shot this with a bb gun. I pulled the little plug out of the bottom of it and sure enough, I can see right through the hole. I am still really perplexed by how this even happened. It says microwave safe on it, and I only ever used this for tea in the microwave. I bought this at a department store and so naturally I did not save the receipt. I will never again spend an arm and a leg on an expensive mug. I am really disappointed that I know have to throw mine out. It's unusable now. :(
