Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Trudeau Garlic Press, BlackCustomer Review: Worked well, until it broke Summary: 1 Stars
I used this for about two months before it broke (the pin holding the two arms together snapped), while trying to mince two small cloves. I bought it based on the Cooks Illustrated review, and it seemed to work really well - I loved the ability to reverse the arms and push out any stuck pieces of garlic.
Customer Review: GREAT garlic press Summary: 5 Stars
I was worried, after reading other reviewers' comments, that the cleaning feature of this garlic press might not work properly. But it has for me so far (after a couple of weeks of use)! It makes clean-up so much easier that I find myself using fresh garlic far more often than I did with my old press.
Customer Review: Good press...according to someone who knows Summary: 5 Stars
I am no chef, but my girlfriend is pretty comfortable around the kitchen. I ordered this garlic press because I could not find one at my local grocery store, and we were starting to cook more and more. We used it for the first time last night, and it worked well. She tells me it is a good one--
Customer Review: Works fine Summary: 3 Stars
This garlic press is sturdy and presses the garlic enough to make removing the skin easier. However, I found out that it really does not mince the garlic through the holes. Probably, it does if you really press very hard but I end up mincing garlic with a knife...a two step process.
Customer Review: Broken after one year of use. Summary: 1 Stars
Mine broke at the hinges, unrepairable because the metal shattered. I am surprised it would break there. Apparently, they used cheap untempered steal and covered it with chrome. It feels heavy and solid, but far from it. If you crush garlic regularly, this item is not for you.
