I was so excited to get this product and have been anticipating its arrival daily. It arrived today but unfortunately the ceramic insert was shattered in several pieces. If my replacement arrives in one piece I may order another... beware this fondue is not very large. Probably a perfect size for cooking meats, but I suspect cheese would go quickly if you have several people enjoying it. It is a beautiful item, though.
Update: Returning the damaged one was super easy, Amazon arranged pickup by UPS at my door and my replacement arrived in 2 days. This one was intact and it is beautiful. Unfortunately I hadn't bought fuel because the product description didn't indicate what type to use. You can use gelled fuel capsules or bottled gel fuel. The manufacturer cautions NOT to use liquid fondue fuel. Now I need to figure out where I can get some quickly and locally as I don't want to order that from Amazon and have to wait several more days to use my fondue pot! I'll try to write another update after using the pot about how it worked for me.
Update: Wonderful item, no complaints! Very beautiful and because there are no cords it is versatile, too. I may get another so I can have several fondue options at the same time. (I love the divided insert!) With some doubt I had also purchased the Melting Pot fondue book. I was pleasantly surprised by that, it was beyond my expectations and gives so many wonderful ideas for all kinds of fondue meals.
