We first purchased this fondue set for Valentine's Day 2010. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't screw up V-day diner and it worked great that night. However, the heating element stopped working on V-day and really killed the mood. Because the pot can be removed and placed on the stove it wasn't a total loss and we were still able to have our fondue. Amazon sent us out a replacement overnight and the new unit does not have the heating element issues. The double boiler function is excellent for chocolate and cheese fondue and is a cinch to clean. When the heating element is working there is no problem with bring the broth to a boil and ensuring even and consistent heat. We are very happy with our replacement unit and only wish that the first one would have worked as well.Customer Review: So far, so good... just one issue.

I just made my first cheese fondue and it turned out great! The ONLY complaint I have with this fondue set is not so much the functionality of it, but the fact that the manufacturer applied a sticker to the heating element. Of course it was not just one of those easy to remove stickers, but rather it ripped off little piece by little piece leaving some adhesive on the heating surface. I did wipe it the best way I could before turning it on, but some adhesive still remained and made the entire house smell like burnt plastic. I would highly recommend that the manufacturer develop an alternate method of sharing the information that they included on the sticker. Other than that, once this headache goes away from the smell, I am looking forward to using it again!Customer Review: Practical

I wanted a fondue pot but didn't want to mess with candles and fuel and such. At first I was concerned that the heating element would not be strong enough but, after 2 years of use, I can tell you it is the most practical and comfortable pot ever made. It is extremely easy to regulate the temperature with an electric heating element and the pot is big enough for 2 or 3 people. I like the added versatility of the heating element since I can make 2 types of fondue in one night with one pot. Broth comes to a boil quickly when preheated on the stove top and oil gets hot in minutes without the need to preheat. If you have a big family or want to feed a lot of people then you may want a bigger pot or more than one, for 2 to 3 people it is perfect.Customer Review: Terrible! This item was a disappointment right from the beginning. It's smaller that it appears in the picture (although the capacity listed is accurate, so make sure you know what you're getting). It's made of very thin metal and feels much flimsier than you'd expect. The burner ships with a large, overly sticky label that is nearly impossible to remove, and scrubbing on the burner at all, even with a nonabrasive cloth, removes some of the coating. That unfortunate hassle aside, we decided to test the the pot - and the first time, it boiled water just fine. Then, it shut off, and would not turn on again, even after it cooled off. We returned the pot and bought another model somewhere else for the same price. Avoid!Customer Review: Really great fondue pot

I did a lot of research before settling on this pot and I am very happy with my choice. We (family) have used it several times and like it so much we are considering purchasing another so we can do even more kinds of fondue in one meal. I have another fondue pot but it uses open flame and I find that being able to adjust the heat with this one is invaluable, not to mention it reduces my worry level when my kids are hovering around it.
I think it's the best one out there for versatility, utility and stylishness.
ETA: After several uses of this wonderful pot, we did order another one. We are looking forward to many home based Melting Pot parties.
