This is what wooden spoons are designed to do: stir, scrape, and occasionally ladle. Finally, a spoon that can scrape into those squared bottoms of your stockpot! A must for spaghetti sauce, beans, etc.The maple wood holds up well, very little fuzzing and no cracking after a year of use. If you can't find this or one like it on Amazon, find it in a retail store like I did.
Description of Tree Spirit 14-Inch Maple Heavy Duty Square Spoon
If you're not sure why you need a square spoon, think about it while you're stirring a sticky batter or sauce. The straight bottom edge allows you to scrape the bottom of a pan or bowl to ensure that nothing is sticking, and the angled corner reaches into tight places. In addition to its effectiveness with sticky dishes, this wooden spoon won't scratch your nonstick cookware. Made by an Amish company that's produced kitchen tools since 1837, the spoon is finished with a light coat of mineral oil to keep it from drying out. The wood won't stain or absorb odors, and its thick handle won't warp or bend, no matter how vigorously you stir. If you want to show off this finely crafted utensil, there's a small hole in the handle for hanging.
