I have used Trap n Toss for 15+ years. I first ordered them because of their "mid-century" design look. I had no clue they worked. I'm a fly hater of the highest degree. I use the most expensive most effective flywipe (now $75 a gal. No dilution!) Fly preditors, flypaper, & harsh 15 minute insecticide spritzers . Trap n Toss fly traps are a wonderment. In a short time they catch thousands of flies. I put out 6 around my farm in early spring before the flies start and that way I get every fly. I add water to them before I replaced them completely half way thru summer. Usually first week of August.
Sometimes they don't work in a specific place. Most fill up with flies and a couple may only get a few all
summer. I don't know why that is. Something there (maybe a plant)that flies don't like. If I move them,
they work fine somewhere else. Don't give up....move them. A couple negative things I can say is that they smell like dog poop and it's not exactlly a delightful site to see 2000 dead flies...even if the container looks like something Mies van der Rohe designed. I don't put any in or near the barn. Usually I place them 30 to 100 feet away, hanging in trees (use a 3 step stool to get them high enough out of reach of horses), on fence rails (with older horses that won't bother them) from roof edgings, sitting on stone walls, etc.
They only smell bad when you walk by them. It's a good trade off in my opinion.
