I got this as a birthday gift and I've only used it once so I may need to experiment with this. The instructions say that you can mix your batter in the dispenser but I dont think I used enough liquid because my batter was pretty thick or maybe I didnt mix it very well. I also put my finger over the hole in the top of the nozzle while I was shaking to mix the ingredients and wound up pushing it through back into the container. I think next time I'll make my batter in a bowl first, then pour it into the dispenser with a funnel. Also, getting the dry ingredients into the container was a little messy without a funnel. You can also use this for making cupcakes instead of buying the cupcake pen separately, its basically the same concept.
Cleaning was very easy, both the top and bottom unscrews and you can easily wash this in your dishwasher.
I think I'll have lots of fun with this little tool. Let your creativity be your guide!
Description of Tovolo Pancake Pen
Tovolo's Pancake Pen is used to create custom pancake designs; draw any shape you like or fill your favorite pancake mold. The ergonomic shape is a nice fit for all hand sizes, while the cap and bottle have measurements for easy batter making right in the bottle; simply pour in your ingredients and shake to mix. Invert the bottle and squeeze to release batter.
