OK, so my wife and I decided no "non essential" gifts this year and since we needed a new colander I went shopping. And even though home goods stores are collapsing all around us, I found the best deal at Amazon. My 8-year old daughter was dying to know what was in the big box, so we opened it up and it is a beautiful colander. It feels great in the hands and the red is a gorgeous bell pepper color. I told my daughter that "Your mom is going to LOVE this gift!" She was unconvinced to say the least, "Dad it's a bowl with holes in it!" But, on Christmas morning my wife was thrilled --OK, maybe it was the sleep deprivation talking, but she did like it. Buy one.
