Customer Review: not as good as I hoped

This pop mold is not quite like what I expected.
I used to use some small cylindrical metal ones when I was a child,
so that is the only one I can compare with.
1). The molds are quite big so they won't fit in my freezer with the tray provided. I had to put them in one by one.
2). It is very hard to take the pop out of the mold. I have run water over it, robbed it with my palms. Still not easy.
3). The cover part on the stick will have quite some melted ice deposited there, and when you tilt the pop, the liquid will flow out and cause a mess on your clothes if you are not very careful. And do not fill the liquid too high, the part near the cover is hard to get to when you eat.
Overall, not a bad product, but can have a better design.

I like to eat frozen juice bars, but they are expensive compared to regular popsicles, so I decided to buy a set of these molds and make them myself. The base tray is great as it holds the molds securely upright, and the popsicle "stick" has a drip tray top that serves as a cap, which also centers the stick in the mold.
I made some frozen grape juice and they turned out great--no need to ever buy juice bars again. Make sure you freeze them long enough--I was impatient and tried it after 3 hours and it just broke apart. So I left it in the freezer overnight. Just run some warm water over the mold and they slide right out.
The drip tray is a little annoying, but if you make sure you leave an inch of space when you are filling up the mold, it generally won't get in the way when you're eating the popsicle.

I've had these pop molds for only a week now, but I'm already very pleased with them and am planning to buy another set. I've made pudding pops with instant pudding and fruit pops with concentrated fruit juices. The pop size is very generous, the pops unmold easily and the components are sturdy and easy to clean. I just fill the pop mold with hot water after unmolding the pop and it's clean and ready to be reused in short order.
As others have mentioned, they are generously sized, but you can always make the pop smaller by filling them about halfway. The holes on the plastic stick which allows the pop to be "anchored" onto the plastic are placed quite low on the stick. So you can get away with making a smaller pop. I like being able to choose large or small pops depending on the fill size.

Glad these worked out for some people. They're pretty much a waste for us. They are HUGE for small children--our boys can't finish one, even in the hottest weather, so that's good organic (i.e. expensive) juice down the drain. Because our freezer is apartment-sized, we cannot use the base that holds the mold because it takes up too much room, so I have to tuck the pops in wherever we can fit them. Which brings me to the last problem--the bases do *not* snap snugly onto the mold, so there are frequent spillovers in our freezer. I've used them two summers now, but I give up and am now looking for some classic Tupperware ones like we had growing up. They were the right size for children, the seal snapped good and tight, and they didn't take up scads of space in the freezer.Customer Review: Good size, nice mold

I had to replace my Tovolo Rocket Pop mold when I dropped the tray when full and some of the molds shattered. Plastic will definitely weaken and ultimately shatter if dropped--that isn't unique to this product. Anyway, I like this mold better because it has a sturdier base. The rocket pops were cute, but narrow and tall with a smaller insertion point so there was always a risk of them falling over. Not so much with these since they're rectangles with a flat base. They look like a traditional store-bought pop. Really, to me the only negative is you have to have the freezer space. They're a great item and practically the only way to get affordable color-additive, HFCS free pops.
