I have no idea how I lived through 3 years of college without this lamp. My final year I got this gooseneck Medusa lamp and it was truly one of the best purchases I made! I've had it for over a year and I love it! It was hard to find a lamp that could light the room sufficiently, look stylish, and conform to a college student's unique needs. The best part is that you can have 2, 3, or 5(all) of the bulbs on to adjust the amount of light. Perfect for studying and reading(and not going blind or bothering your roommate)! Also nice is that it transitioned nicely into my college graduate lifestyle. Only complaint is that it is fairly heavy and requires its own trip from the car on move in day(but easily carried when folded). I purchased this lamp from the store today, and I will be returning it on tomorrow. I should've known something was wrong (with the price being low), but every now and then you find a great bargain, and I figured this was just one of them. However, I couldn't even get the thing assembled properly. One of the other reviewers described precisely the problem I had when screwing in the bottom part of the pole to the base. I've putten together many floor lamps in the past, and this one is just poorly constructed. I was finally able to rig it up good enough for me to see how it would look in the room, and everyone is right... it looks great. But now that I've read the reviews, rather than exchanging it for a new one, I'll be shopping for a different product.Customer Review: Good lamps are hard to find

I have two friends who bought this lamp, so I was able to try it out before I purchased it. I was so liked it, I would have easily paid fifty or sixty dollars for it. So, I go to target and low and behold, I see the lamp! Of course I immediatly bought it, but when I got home I realized the parts wouldn't screw together correctly. I go to the store to return it and upon arriving I see that their display model has the same problem. So not wanting to take any chances I assemble the new one at the store. Turned out it worked fine :-). I absoulutly love it! I use those round decorative bulbs you see around mirrors in fancy bathrooms. It looks great! I wouldn't recommend buying it online though, since returning it might be difficult.Customer Review: great lamp and easy to assemble!

I've been looking for this lamp, so when I found it at the local Target today, I brought it on home. Took about five minutes to put together, and it works great for both reading and as a lamp for the formerly dark computer corner of our living room. I want to get another for my bedroom and may get it tomorrow. I've used compact flourescents, which look sort of comical in the flower-like shades, but keep things from getting too hot. And best of all (okay, not when bringing it up two flights of stairs with a few sacks of groceries . . .) the base is heavy, and should withstand the rigors of serving an apartment with a frisky kitten, a silly dog, and a daughter who is in love with repositioning the lights.Customer Review: Know several people with one, not a problem between any

I bought one of these lamps several months ago, because My brother had one in his home that really brought together the look, and illuminated it very nicely. I haven't had a singal problem, and neither has he. Following in our footsteps, one of my friends bought two of these lamps from her new home, and they havent had anything to go wrong either. For people to be complaining about the striping of the joints, they must not know how to move it, or are being to rough, Because i have found it to be quite sturdy and durable, I have a 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter, and their playing has knocked the lamp over twice, and nothing on it broke or was messed up in anyway either time.
