Customer Review: Invaluable component to the microplane utensil

If you're looking at this, it's likely that you already own a microplane and are debating whether or not you need to spend an extra few dollars for this attachment. I very strongly recommend that you take the plunge because in time, it may save you much more in medical bills if you slice or shred a finger or two. This hard plastic shell fits snugly over the metal grater or shredder and snapping it on is the most difficult task in operating this. Be careful when you snap it on and off, please. I appreciate being able to slide back and forth with cheese, chocolate, nuts or any semi-firm or firm food item. It speeds up the process for me and that is a very definite plus. If you have the microplane, why not also get this to make your life easier and your family happier when they are fed quicker? It also makes for a better presentation if you're using this to grate parmesan cheese at the table. People feel better when they see the shield surrounding the cheese as opposed to your bare fingers.
