Unless price is crucial, better to get a stand mixer. Granted that they are much more expensive, but they don't hinder your maneuverability.
I had had a good stand mixer and foolishly got rid of it. Now I have ordered a new one.
This hand mixer was my attempt to avoid getting the other kind. I think if one were determined to have a hand mixer it might be preferable to get a simple single blade type for that type of activity.
The main complaints I have about this hand mixer are:
1. There are six speeds. All of them seem to be nearly the same, namely too fast. For certain types of mixings, either dry or liquid, one needs at least one fairly slow speed. The manufacturer should consider reducing the number of speed down to 3 or 4: slow, medium, (medium fast), fast. There are six speeds indicated on this mixer, and one can't tell the difference between speed one and speed six. So it's like there's only one speed for six speed indication marks. How pointless!
2. The eject button doesn't work easily. When one's hands are busy, and when attempting to eject, with this mixer you have to hold it with one hand and press the eject button with the other. You have to press it at various places on the button before being able to get the blades to pop out. As a result you end up messing it up with whatever you were mixing in the endeavor to merely eject the blade.
For the price, despite its deficiencies, it's a reasonable purchase, but for long range usefulness it doesn't measure up.
