Customer Review: THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR ME

I needed a one-cup coffee maker and I'm frugal yet particular about my coffee. I have to use my favorite brand, Green Mountain, so can't use premeasured cups. I was hesitant to buy this little coffee maker because so many of the reviews were negative and it was so inexpenive I doubted its quality. I'm glad I took the chance and bought it anyway. I've been using it for two weeks and it has worked perfectly and produced an excellent cup of coffee each morning after the trials and errors of the first couple of uses. What I do to make the perfect cup: warm my favorite mug by filling it with hot water and letting it sit a minute while I put 2 level scoops (the standard size scoop is included)of good coffee in the permanent filter basket, fill the water reservoir with 8 ounces of very cold water, and swing the drip arm into position. Empty the water from the mug, put it in place and turn the coffee maker on. In 6 minutes I have a great cup of coffee. Yes, it takes 6 minutes - but my big Cuisine Art pot takes at least that long, so I'm used to that. I use the 6 minutes to feed my dog and give my cats a little milk, so no big deal. It's worth the wait. And, yes, there is no warming plate, but I see no use for one if you start with a warm mug. I pick my cup of coffee up immediately after it finishes dripping anyway. And the plate the mug sits on snaps off for easy rinsing if coffee drips on it, so in that way it's better than a warming plate. And, no, it doesn't turn off automatically. I have no problem taking on the responsibility of turning it off and unplugging it after each use. I couldn't be more pleased with the Toastess and recommend it without reservation. I hope it is working as well in 2 years as it has over the past 2 weeks.
