Well, it's pretty great in some ways. The insulation is perfect and tea will stay piping hot for far far longer than it ever could in a regular teapot so that will have it won over by many I'm sure. It's incredibly durable and well built so it can be taken all sorts of places. It's the sort of teapot I'd love to have for camping or something. It can get packed and unpacked over and over with no worry about breakage, and it's got its own little filter that works great for loose tea. Timolino really knows what they're doing with these things. Great for what they're made for.
That said, I returned mine the day after I bought it because there's something about it that you wouldn't be able to see from the picture. It's never, ever closed. You can only carry it around when it's empty because if it's full it just pours right out the spout when you tip it. I guess since it's called a teapot then it's fair that it acts mostly like a teapot, but this thing has vacuum insulated walls and it's built to be on the go. The problem is, if I want tea on the go, this means I have to have a thermos or there better be hot water at the destination. Well if I'm already carrying a thermos then I'm not going to carry this thing too. For me it's a deal killer that it doesn't have the one feature that would really make it tea on the go. Seems like with this thing the tea can only happen on the stop.
