I love this Tibos crepe maker. Even though I bought mine a vendor other than Amazon, I am thrilled with my Tibos crepe maker and was inspired to write this review as I went to put it away tonight. I've had mine for about 2 years and have used it (to my family's great enthusiasm) numerous times since it arrived. First, it's gorgeous. Second, the design is practical and easy to clean. Third, it comes with the tools to make good crepes. I think I ordered a larger crepe spreader on the advice of another reviewer when I bought mine, but that wasn't a big deal.
Good crepe recipes abound on the web -- the ingredients are all you need to assemble along with a shallow water container -- and you're ready to make crepes. It was surprisingly easy to get it right -- a few tips for the first time crepe maker --
Expect your first crepe of any batch to be a throw away (unless you have kids, like mine, who make short work of the first crepe.)
Don't over oil your crepe maker and don't keep the heat too high. Finding the right mix of a lightly oiled crepe maker plate with a temp at about level 6 or so, should be adequate.
Practice the smooth flow you'll need to develop to swing the spreader lightly over your batter and before you know it, you'll find your "zone" -- it's a very cool machine and the results I've achieved have been just wonderful. Just returned from a visit to Paris and discovered that my Tibos crepes were as good as theirs!
