I was very near to purchasing the Stanley thermos of the same size. While checking the reviews one gentleman detailed his own personal comparison of the two thermoses. He used boiling water poured into both. 24 hours later the Stanley was 140-degrees, and the Thermos was 162-degrees. - So I went ahead and purchased this along with the "lunch lugger" bag. I'm very happy I made the right choice. This thing is awesome.
For my own experiment I filled my new Thermos with ice cubes. This was done early on 3/13/10. I opened it each day to check. After the first 24 hours there was about 1 tsp of water that poured out. Day 2 about 2 tsp of water. Now, honest to God and strike me dead if I'm lying, but I'm here on the evening of 3/19/10 and there's still a chunk of ice in there about the size of a peach. I expect there will still be a small piece in 8 hours. That will make it 7 FULL DAYS. I can't believe it myself. It is amazing. - The Thermos, by the way, was kept in the house in a climate controlled room with a temperature of 70-degrees.
