I travel for work, driving about 80% of the time, and I have gone through so many bad travel mugs - leaky, awkward, too big, too small, and definitely substandard in the thermal department. I had to wait a LONG time for this mug as it was on back order, and when I finally received and used it for the first time...cue heavenly music and lighting...it was AWESOME. I put 190 degree coffee in this mug at 5 AM as I head out the door and it is still piping hot when I get to my destination three or four hours later. A few days ago, I put iced coffee in the mug, headed out at 6:30 AM, and when I went to empty the mug at 7 PM that evening, there was still ice in it! And it was over 90 degrees that afternoon. I don't know how Thermos did it, but I love that they did. The size and shape are perfect for my car cup holder, there are NO leaks when the top is on Close, even when I tip it sideways getting bags out of the car. Best of all, the mug holds enough that even I, coffee cat that I am, don't run out before I get where I am going. I actually threw out several older mugs because I know I will never use them again now that I have my Blue Buddy.Customer Review: Outstanding

This is not only very good, it's utterly amazing. I filled it with coffee, left for work and went - forgetting it in my car. I went to my car ***8 hour later*** and remembered I'd left the cup ***and the coffee was still warm***. On a cool 45F day.
Fill with fresh coffee and even leave the top off for an hour, and it's still too hot to drink. I've tried various other travel mugs (usually poor), and this blows them all away. It's a little pricey compared to some (though not compared to what you pay off the shelf @ Starbucks or other coffee houses selling such things), but it's worth every penny. Had to buy a second for the envious wife.
Top seals well, easily w/o being too hard (or easy) to open later. Lip is good, comfortable to drink from. The top has a Closed/Open switch and 2 equal opposite openings, so good airflow as you drink and equally convenient holding it almost any way.
I don't normally write reviews, let alone glowing ones, but this is one time I'm surprisingly pleased at how outstanding this product is. If only more things were as finely crafted. Very highly recommended.

This is the most amazing travel mug I have ever used. It actually DOES what the product label claims... but even Better! For example: I filled the thermos with cold tea and five ice-cubes at 1PM. By 6PM I had drank the tea and had lots of ice remaining. I refilled the thermos with cold tap water to see how long the ice would last. At 6:30 the following morning, there were still small chunks of ice!!!!
I have also tried it with hot coffee (after pre-heating the mug with hot water) and have had equally amazing results with how long the coffee remained HOT... 4-5 hours. Previous travel mugs didn't keep my coffee hot for much over an hour.
Hot or Cold... there is NO external moisture (sweating), the mug is not warm or cold to the touch, and turned upside-down - there is absolutely NO leakage!
To say that I am thrilled with this product is an understatement.
Though the initial cost seemed expensive, and I was skeptical of its ability to perform as claimed, I can now heartily recommend this travel mug. It is truly amazing! Those who purchase this product will not be disappointed!

This is by far the best travel coffee mug I've ever owned. It is totally leakproof, disassembles easily to clean, keeps coffee hot for several hours, and is easy to open/close one-handed so it's good for the car. It's also quite stylish in Midnight Blue, if that is important to you.
The ease of cleaning is important to me since every mug I've owned previously has had some kind of nastiness that grows in a crevice I can't quite reach. Not a problem with this mug!
Also, as long as you don't overfill it, you can turn it upside down, knock it over, whatever, you won't spill a drop!
It may cost more than some of the competition, but it is well worth it. Definitely recommended!
(UPDATE November 24, 2010): After more than seven months of daily use, I can confirm the durability of this travel mug. With regular hand washing, including disassembly of the lid to get the gunky stuff out, this mug remains leak-proof and free of anything nasty growing in hidden crevices. Coffee stays hot for quite a while. Still the best travel mug I've owned!

This is a good stainless steel coffee mug-- it looks nice and it has a good lid that opens and closes with a simple rotating latch mechanism. It keeps coffee hot for about 4 to 5 hours, which is what I purchased it for, but it's not as good as a full metal canister thermos. For most people I would recommend a conventional thermos before this, but I bought this one for the convenience of drinking coffee straight out of it in the morning and washing it easily every night. It does what it needs to do.
However, the story doesn't end there. When I first got this thermos it did leak out of the side of the lid, which surprised me, as Thermos usually makes pretty high quality products. When I called them, they asked me what was wrong and after I told them they just asked for my address and told me I'd have a new lid in two weeks. No receipt required, no payment, no shipping costs... I didn't even have to tell them the model number! A week and a half later I got my new lid and I couldn't be happier. Thermos, your business strategy works-- you make good products and you back them up.
