Customer Review: It's great, but be careful with your upper lip

I bought this when I discovered that you can get sizeable discounts by ordering a refill at popular coffee chains (7-11, Dunkin Donuts, Panera, Starbucks, etc)
PROS:
Cost is reasonable, and the quality is really quite good.
Right now I'm drinking tea I made four hours ago, and it's still on the border between warm and hot.
The stainless steel looks great, it has a nice brushed finish, but is smooth and glossy to the touch, not rough at all.
The other benefit to the stainless steel is that it is super easy to clean. The inside and outside is stainless steel on this one, NO plastic on the inside except for the lid.
The lid is a work of art compared to most competitors. The locking mechanism is ingenious, and seals 100% effectively. I have held it upside down, full, and shaken it vigorously, no leaking whatsoever.
CONS:
The plastic lid is probably a weak point in case you drop it. I take care not to drop mine :)
The open/close mechanism is not exactly quiet. Due to the design, it 'pops' when you hit the engagement point, and it's a set noise level.. You can't stealthily open and close this thing, but once again that's probably only of concern to a limited audience.
If you put a VERY hot drink in, it will be VERY hot for a long time! Plan ahead lol. If you want to drink your coffee on the way to work, let it cool down a minute before putting the top on.
Also, as the title suggests, be careful w/the lid. You may feel there's nothing coming so you tip it more, then BAM you get scalding liquid on your top lip. It took me a day or two to get used to it, and now it's not a problem.
VERDICT:
I like it, would recommend it. It's a testament to it's quality and usefulness that I use it every day. My previous plastic thermos got a few days' use before going int he trash.
