I cannot give enough accolades to the Nissan line of Thermos products! Just wonderful and has a cool, sleek design! I started out with the All-in-One Meal Carrier and was so impressed with it, I purchased 3 additional products from the Nissan line. My first time out with the briefcase bottle was to a popular local theme park. At 11am, I preheated the unit with boiling water then filled it with hot chocolate made with milk. At 7pm, I poured myself a cup and was simply elated as I gingerly sipped my delicious cup of creamy, scalding hot chocolate. I then poured my sister a cup about 1/2 an hour later and not only did she rave at how great the hot chocolate was, she jokingly threatened to sue me ala a famous fast food hot beverage lawsuit. What's great is the exterior stays cool so you'd never know from the outside of the hot, steamy goodness that awaits inside. Can't wait to try this on cold beverages.Customer Review: Awesome thermos

So I bought this thermos hoping my coffee would stay warm through a long day of studying. It seems well constructed, stainless steel so I'm not too worried about anything happening to it, or it getting dinged up if I chuck it out my window.
I thought I would run a little experiment and test it out how long my coffee would stay warm. I brewed some coffee last night at 9pm, and it's 9am now and its still warm- it's not steaming too heavily but it's warm enough to drink, which is all I need.
You have to make sure the screw on cap is on tight, and put the lid back on top. I forgot to put the lid back on top the other day and the coffee was cold after about 5/6 hours.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the company claims 24hrs. While this has not been experimentally confirmed, I doubt it would stay warm that long. Still, it's good enough to serve my purpose!

I adore this thermos. I don't travel with it, but the price on carafes were much higher, and this got such excellent reviews.
I use a french press to brew coffee, so there is no external element to keep it hot once brewed. This allows me to brew a full 34 oz pot of coffee and keep it hot. I've even brewed it the night before so I would have hot coffee upon waking. it was still steaming! I've also simmered milk and sugar and added that the night before. Same result. I actually burnt my tongue on the coffee after it had been sealed for 9 hours. It was near-boiling temp when I put it in, and it pretty much stayed that temp.
I have noticed that it cools much more quickly as you open and close it. But if it's been sitting unopened for hours you can bet it'll be hot.
I haven't tried it with cold drinks yet. I'll get to that this summer :)

Not 100% satisfied with this product. For one, everytime I pour a drink it spills all over the place!!! this is because the inside cap must be screwed on super tight. This makes it way too inconvenient and impractical to be an everyday botlle!!! Also size is too big for everyday bottle. It is not sporty. Furthermore you must twist cap twice before drinking-- Way too much work to be practical & used for everyday outings. This thermos is ideal if you would like the best cold & heat retention one time out of the year- say on a camping trip. I wouldn't even recommend for going fishing, as you will be frustrated by the difficulty of twisting two caps- which you must do 4 times!!! twice to remove & twice to seal closed. Save your money & get a sportier bottle- you will be glad you did! Also get one that's made here in the states- this one is made in china!! thumbs down.

I bought this a couple weeks ago and just let me say WOW! It had performed superbly for the past month (only used it a couple times), but I had put it through the ultimate test this past week. I live in Colorado and the for the past week, it had not gotten above 25 degrees :o! Even tonight, which is when I tested out this thermos, the high was only 15. I brewed a pot of coffee (actually 2 from my small coffee maker) and put it in this thermos. 6 hours later, and the coffee is still steaming hot, and it is currently -3 right now!!! I did pre-heat the thermos (which makes a huge difference), but I never thought I would still have hot scalding coffee after I let it sit out in this cold weather. I would HIGHLY recommend this product and I have many, many wonderful plans to go skiing with this thermos. Absolutely wonderful.
