Customer Review: Good insulation, impossible to clean.

It's well constructed, and it has excellent insulation... But that's where the good part ends.
If you're unfortunate enough to forget to clean the mug for a day or two (I know, my fault) it's absolutely impossible to get rid of any associated smell. The top inside of the mug has a gasket that seals the seam between the plastic screw-top adapter and the stainless inside, and moisture seems to be able to work it's way through that. Once it's through the gasket, the cup will stink forever. I've tried soaking it in just about everything imaginable, and the smell won't go away.
I have a MiGo stainless mug that's a single piece of metal, and it cleans up immediately with no issues.
Very disappointing, as I had high expectations from Nissan.

I chose the 18-oz tumbler particularly for the higher capacity, although a version with a leak-proof cap might retain heat better. I work at home, so I don't need to take this tumbler out. I assume one would have to always hold it in one hand or put it in a car's cup holder. Since it is not leak-proof it cannot go into a backpack of briefcase unless it is empty. I think it is ideal for use in the home or office, rather than during commute. Hot water/tea stays really hot for 1-2 hours. If hot liquid is left in the tumbler without frequent drinking, it will still be lukewarm for up to 6-7 hours afterwards. Note that the plastic cap does get warm and will transfer heat to the top stainless steel rim of the tumbler, but the bottom of the tumbler is always cool.Customer Review: Excellent

This tumbler is great, it holds a lot and keeps my coffee hot. I bring this to class with me and through 2 classes keeps my coffee warm. Now, it will not be quite as hot as when I poured it. If I pre-rinse with hot water the coffee will stay very hot for about an hour or so and then after that it will still be nice and warm but not piping. It does leak from the top if you will allow it to (not having it upright) so as previous reviews have stated this is not a "throw it in the backpack/briefcase/dashboard/car floor" tumbler. However I ride the bus to class on a daily basis and have not had any problems whatsoever. Also, it stays fairly cool to the touch while keeping the contents hot. It is expensive, but I feel absolutely worth it.Customer Review: it's silly to profess love for a mug, but i will!

this mug is awesome! no, the lid is not spill-proof, just spill-resistant (no more so than your average takeout dunkin donuts styrofoam cup). the purpose of this mug is to keep your beverage hot or cold while you're on the go, and it's phenomenal. i can make my coffee at 6:30am, and still have very, very warm coffee at 11:30am. this is a huge convenience in my life as i work fulltime with three children. not only does this mug do a great job of insulating coffee, it has a fairly large capacity (most mugs are 14-oz sizes), without becoming top-heavy. i've made some fairly sharp, quick turns and sudden stops with a full mug, and it's never fallen over or spilled. i highly recommend this cup - it's worth every penny!Customer Review: Nissan 18 oz travel mug

After lots of research, I purchased (2) of these mugs. My husband & I are avid coffee drinkers. We do really like this tumbler. It keeps coffee hot for a long time. I also like that the lid screws on easily & you can flip it closed on the top incase you got it a little full, w/ stop & go traffic. It holds a decent amount of coffee & the rubber grip on it is nice too. The cup size it not odd shaped either, it fits a regular coffee holder in vehicles. The cup is not dishwasher safe, but I do put the lids thru the DW. Seems like these were on the expensive side but I think worth it, we have had lots of other coffee cups that dont keep stuff hot or are hard to get the lid on etc etc. I am pleased w/ our purchase!!
