It doesn't leak until you fill it further than you are supposed to. It is very convenient to drink from. My tea and coffee stay hot for a about half a day (really hot) and then, I guess, about 24hours warm.
This thermos is a good choice.

This thermos works like a charm - no leaks, keeps bev warm for hours and is relatively small and light. Good for walks, camping, work, and whatever else you can think about. A little pricey but probably worth it.
