Customer Review: The only thing stopping me from giving this a 5 is its weak teeth.
Summary: 4 Stars
And by "teeth" I mean the small plastic part that blocks the bags from slipping off of the larger hook parts (the larger hook parts that the bags actually dangle from are no problem at all and are not the issue here).
On one Baggler that I had, one had broken off on me and I didn't realize it until one of my shopping bags' handles kept coming loose off the Baggler. I don't know how the tooth broke on that one, but I do know how the tooth broke on another Baggler on one of my more recent trips; I had placed the bags on a table to open a door but one of the bags was too heavy and it slid off of the table, twisted around the tooth and then snapped the tooth right off. So, my fault, but a shame because...
...aside from that issue, this item has got to be the greatest hand and life saver for any shopper in recent history. Partially disabled and with bad circulation issues, my hands would suffer greatly if I had to carry any plastic bags that were even slightly heavy. The Baggler changed that for me, and its amazing design seems to redistribute the weight of bags evenly so that you can actually carry more than you could if you didn't have a Baggler. People *always* stop me when I'm out shopping to ask me what it is I'm using and I always sing the Baggler's praises. I can't go shopping without them now, and would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
The design flaw I mentioned re: the "weak tooth" could be remedied by a change of manufacturing materials, but I really can't complain about the tool as it is and how it's priced. Our first Bagglers came from Bed, Bath & Beyond for $4.99 apiece, but you can find them even cheaper than that online. You cannot beat the convenience and (general) strength of this product.
Description of The Baggler
Strong and Durable: The BAGGLER® is built to last and be used over and over again. The base handle of The BAGGLER® is made of a very strong plastic copolymer that perform in a wide range of weather conditions, hot, cold, rain, and snow. The BAGGLER® is made with materials that can withstand some of the coldest temperatures, as low as 5 degrees below zero and scorching heat as hot as 120 above. Capable: The BAGGLER® has three solid hooks that can hold up to 18 lbs each. Each hook can hold several thin handle cloth, rope handle and plastic shopping bags. Placing multiple bags on each hook of The BAGGLER® means that you could carry many bags with a maximum weight slightly greater than 50 lbs. The Perfect Size: The BAGGLER® is not too big and not small. It's the perfect size, about 5" wide x 4.5 " height and less than 1/2 inch thick, except the handle grip which is 7/8 inch diameter. The BAGGLER® only weighes 1.7 ounces. Wow! The BAGGLER® can fit into your pocket, your purse, pocketbook or knapsack, glove box, or easily clip onto your belt loop. Easy to use: The BAGGLER® is designed to slide your thin handle cloth, rope handle and plastic shopping bags on and off with the least amount of effort. There a two major components that contribute to the remarkable ease in which plastic bags slide on and off. First, The BAGGLER® is made of a copolymer that is smooth, almost frictionless, and latex free. The copolymer has tremendous memory and the tines and hooks retain their position, but have enough flexibility to allow almost all plastic bags to slide on and off. Second, the precise design of the hooks and tines keeps your plastic bags from getting snagged. A slight overlap of 3/16" and a smooth rounded tip that creates a "V" like chanel that will allow you to remove each bag handle easily.
