Customer Review: Great idea.....however.....
Summary: 2 Stars
This product seemed like a great idea even it if was very expensive, so I decided to give it a try.
Pros: Does not effect the taste of the whiskey
Cons:
1) Even after 24 hours in the freezer, these still do not seem to cool the whiskey at all. I tried 3 of them in a very thin glass with less than 1/2 oz of whiskey and it never dropped any noticable amount in temperature. I did not measure for a temperature drop, but if I that is the only way to tell, then it does not do what it claims.
2) These things slide and bang around in the glass. You have to be careful so the glass is not damaged -- heavy rocks moving around in a thin glass is just an accident waiting to happen. The requirement to be careful when drinking takes a lot of the enjoyment away. Do not even think about swirling your whiskey around in the glass!
3) BE CAREFUL OF YOUR TEETH! If you tip the glass up to get the last whiskey in the bottom, these rocks come sliding into your mouth and could easily chip your teeth or worse. They are actually a serious safety hazard. I would avoid letting a kid use them for fear of the kid swallowing them.
Summary: Save your money. You could do just as well with some marbles that you put in the freezer (update -- this is meant as a joke -- marbles have the same safety concern).
