We have two of these, one in our kitchen under the cabinet and one in our office area, just bought a third. This is a nice thick black and the first two don't even looked used and they are at least 4 years old. My old one, a very popular rubber items brand, cracked on the top edge where it curls under, perhaps you've experienced the same, so far, so good on this one. You can lift it when full and it doesn't bend. I'm glad this one was still on Amazon, makes others look and feel whimpy.
