I wanted to make sure my oven was always at the right temp and this thermometer was perfect. Nothing has been burned or undercooked since I started using it. It's long and narrow and you can just hook it onto once of the oven racks and leave it hang there since it allows space between the racks. Worth the price.Customer Review: Saved me some burned food.

I thought that my oven was off but as this was the first gas oven I've used at home I figured it was just a fast oven. Little did I know that my oven settings were 50 degrees off. When I set the temp. at 400 degrees it was really 450 degrees.So thank you Taylor and I'm getting my oven adjusted by the Gas company.Customer Review: inconsistent

I bought two of these and tested them together in a new oven. I was disappointed to see that the two thermometers' readings differed by 25-50 degrees, depending on the oven's programmed temperature. This thermometer really does the job. It's very easy to read, easy to hang or rest on the rack in your oven.
And not only is it a great, accurate thermometer, it's far less expensive than any of the other brands. Small wonder that it was highly recommended by Cook's Country Cooking magazine...

I purchased this thermometer because Cook's Illustrated recommended it. It works as well as any, I guess. Because it's long instead of tall, it's harder to knock over. The one thing I didn't like is that when I was cleaning it the other day, some of the writing came off. Besides that, it's fine.
