Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Oven Guide Thermometer

Customer Review: Best Oven Thermometer Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had several oven thermometers in the past, all of which were the type with the hand that points to the temperature....they were all inaccurate to some degree. This is a true mercury thermometer and the reading is 100% accurate. The only negative - the numbers may be hard to read for some people. I highly recommend this for accurate oven temperature.

Customer Review: Highly recommended!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these at the recommendation of a well-known cooking magazine (in which they tested it along with a very advanced temperature sensor), and it took top honors amongst a dozen other models. I've found it to be extremely helpful, easy to read, and a very stable design. Others I have used have proven far to easy to knock over!

Customer Review: Not sure it works correctly
Summary: 2 Stars

I have used this several times now and get different readings depending upon the temperature set on the oven. I can't believe that my GE oven is that far off at 425 degrees, but it's okay at 350 degrees, so I'm blaming the thermometer. I could be wrong, I'll be purchasing another brand of thermometer to further check this out.

Customer Review: A little hard to read
Summary: 4 Stars

I've read reviews outside of Amazon as to it's accuracy and I'm basing the four stars on that. It's stays pretty much out the way, as you can set it on the rack or hang it. It is a little hard to read, as you have to be at the correct angle to view it. Like an old fashion glass thermometer to check your body temperature.

Customer Review: Miserably inaccurate
Summary: 1 Stars

I just received one of these. Being a suspicious sort of person, I checked it against my professional digital instant-read thermometer. When the true temperature was 275, the Taylor thermometer read 300. When the true temperature was 115, the Taylor read 130. So the Taylor was neither absolutely accurate not linear.
