Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Digital Minute/Second TimerCustomer Review: Taylor timers Summary: 3 Stars
These are great little timers as long as you're not expecting the highest quality and longevity. The small size and the clip on feature were what prompted me to buy them. I bought 11 and when I unpacked the box, the "clip" part was missing on one timer. I found it in the box and was able to reattach it to the timer easily. These were gifts for healthcare students, so really don't know how well they've worked or how long they've lasted. But, I'd buy them again, because they served my purpose in providing a clever means of keeping time and of accessibility for the user.
Customer Review: You get what you pay for Summary: 2 Stars
This timer gets the job done, and the price can't be beat. Mine still works just fine, and yet I'm online looking for something better because the beeps are very shrill, and to clear it back 00:00 you have to press M and S at the same time, which is awkward, and doesn't always work. I want something with a "clear" button and a more tolerable and louder beep. Construction is cheap--it fell on the floor and came apart into multiple pieces. I managed to reassemble it, but the screen is now cracked. I liked my West Bend digital timer MUCH better.
Customer Review: easy to use Summary: 4 Stars
I am an elementary school teacher & bought these for a small group of 4th graders. They are working on reading fluency & love timing themselves to see if they have reached or exceeded their own personal words-per-minute goal.
I like the fact that they're not too expensive, easy to use & they can count up or down.
I gave them a 4 out of 5 because one of them came with a crack in the display window & the little spring that holds the "stand-up" mechanism comes apart pretty easily & is almost impossible to fix once it's broken.
Customer Review: Just needs easier reset Summary: 4 Stars
This is a nice little timer, and the fact it counts up as well as down is a bonus. Versatile mounting: a stand for tabletops, a magnet, and spring clip. My only issue is that resetting takes two hands or fancy fingerwork: You reset by pressing both the minute and the second button simultaneously. It seems there should be a separate reset button, or press-and-hold the stop button to reset. While they're at it, they should throw in a 10-min button, to increment in 10 minute chunks. Then it would be the mother of all timers.
Customer Review: Works well, really basic Summary: 3 Stars
Works as well as you can expect. The functionality is pretty basic, though, just a timer with pause.
It doesn't seem obvious (or possible) to adjust the set time down if you happen to overshoot it when setting. For example, when setting 50:00, if you accidentally go to 54:00, seems that you have to clear the setting and start over.
I'm hard pressed to decide whather I like this one better than my $1 mechanical timer I got from the dollar store. This one is quieter, I guess.
