Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Digital Double-Time Timer with ClockCustomer Review: Great kitchen timer! Compact and one of the few to time as far as 20 hours! Summary: 5 Stars
I have had 2 of these timers. One accidentally broke on my account and I HAD to replace it with this SAME timer. No other timers would cut it. It is very compact so bringing it about the house while waiting is light and simple. Although compact, it has a huge clear digital display as well. Also, it has an Minute/Second setting AND an Hour/Minute setting with a simple switch in the back (not shown). Also, it is one of the few that time up to 20 hours and are this small and compact. The buttons make it clear and exact and the Start/Stop button is big and on the side for convenience.
I wrote this review because I want to add some further information than described in the item description. As I've said, I have owned 2 of these. I find the one I bought here on Amazon is slightly different than the one I purchased at another store. The differences are that the one bought from Amazon had a clip in the back with a magnet on its surface. With this clip, there is a spring that keeps the clip extended so you can stand the timer as you would a picture frame. I did not have these with my original version of this timer. If one wanted the simplistic design of a flat back as my original timer, you may accidentally purchase the timer I receieved. Other than the clip witht he magnet, IT IS THE SAME EXACT TIMER.
I have no problem with this addition other than the magnet (I go to the computer when waiting for food to cook/timer and worry about the negative effects of magnets and electronics [I also travel and pack it with computer]). I simply took a screwdriver and removed it. I do love the clip and the ability to stand though!
I primarily wrote this review to inform that there may be differences in this timer for anyone who may also be in my situation.
Description of Taylor Digital Double-Time Timer with ClockClassic Big Digit Timer/Clock This discreet little digital clock/timer fits in the palm of a hand and gives users the choice of counting up or down in either minutes and seconds or hours and minutes. When the timer is not in use, the gadget operates as a digital clock, reporting the current time in hours and minutes. The LCD screen displays an easy-to-view 0.8-inch readout and the timer itself can mount to a magnetized surface, clip to clothing, or stand on a tabletop. The timer is simple to set and has easily-identifiable buttons for the clock, hours/minutes timer, and minutes/seconds timer. For longer counting tasks, such as all-day cooking of meat sauces or tracking intervals between taking medication, the hours/minutes timer counts up to 19 hours and 59 minutes. For meals with shorter cook times or timing at-home workouts, the minutes/seconds timer counts up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds. The timer emits a beeping noise when set time has elapsed, which is easily turned off by pressing the Start/Stop button on the instrument?s side. The Start/Stop button also pauses and resumes countdowns when pressed before countdown time is complete. The timer runs on a single AAA battery (included) and Taylor ensures complete accuracy in its readings through a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
