I set out to find a scale to do nothing more then weigh flour and dough with. I bake bread at least once a week and make between 2 and 4 pizzas every week, along with whatever else I decided to bust out..but I didn't feel like spending a bunch of money on a scale and risk having it be inaccurate or going through batters.
Let me start with accuracy;
To test this scale out, I took an item to work and weighed it on the food preparation scale at work, I then came home, and used this scale to weigh the same item. Both scales gave me the same reading. I have used the "tare" function MANY times already and have yet to have any problems with it that some have reported.
Battery:
I've used this thing at least once every other day now after receiving it and my battery is still going strong. I make sure to shut the scale off right after my measurements are done and remove it from my work area to make sure it does not get bumped and end up back on.,,I was also taking the battery out after every use but I ended up realizing I would probably lose the battery if I continued that.
Everything else:
The display is very easy to read, time taken to reach weight is much shorter then even some commercial scales I have used. The glass top is very easy to clean and is attached to the base really well.
The whole unit is very lite and is actually a little smaller then I thought it was going to be so I have no problem leaving it on a counter.
Taylor makes a lot of scales that people have recommended. I love this one despite the marketing of "the biggest loser" but judging this scale for that reason is a great inaccuracy.
