Many years ago, I purchased a Serger and was thrilled until I started to thread it. I got so frustrated with trying to thread the Serger, I put it up and refused to use it. My husband suggest I just throw it in the trash. Many years have past and I decided I would buy another Serger before I retired. I really like the Sewing with Nancy EZ Lock Serger. I liked the fact it came with a DVD to show the ways to use the Serger including threading it. Big piece of advice do not un-thread when you open the box and you will learn the easiest method to thread the machine. I have learned the lower looper is threaded first, which is probably what was not listed in the book for the other serger. The diagram on the inside of this machine is very helpful also. This is an excellent machine for those who are new to sergering as well as seasoned sewist. The price for me was just right also. I also should say when I received the machine I was impressed with how well it was packaged. I enjoy ordering products from Amazon because I know I am going to get exactly what I ordered and I like the fact you can track your package.Customer Review: Good quality machine

Pros:
-2, 3, or 4 thread serging
-Color coded for looper threading. It took me about 10 minutes the first time I threaded it. I have threaded my machine several times in the last couple of months and I can now switch colors and rethread in less than 5 minutes.
-has differential adjustment
-has several stitch options
-works ok with cheap thread (better with the quality thread though)
Cons:
-The needles are held in place by hex head screws so you need an allen wrench. My daughter lost the one my accessory kit came with, and the manual does not state the size. Its 1/16" though.
-the accessory kit doesn't fit into the free arm space. I know that isn't really a feature, but I have a friend that has a drawer in her serger for storing accessories.
Overall, I would recommend this to my friends. If you have stubby fingers or poor eyesight go for a model that self threads. But for me this was a great purchase.

I love Amazon - I ordered this item Dec.3 around 6pm. It was delivered Dec.5 at 11 am. Incredible.
I needed a new serger to replace my old faithful "white superlock" that decided to surrender after 25 years of service. I checked many stores, many brands, but prices were too high. In checking Amazon, I knew I found the winner. I trust "Sewing with Nancy". She will not put her name on inferior product. I was right. I have tried the machine today and was very satisfied of the results. I have not figure out the quick threading yet, but even the manual threading was not that hard.
Only complain is the DVD, inaudible sound - but no matter, I have the manual.
A definite 5 stars for this serger. Thk you Amazon and Thk you Sewing with Nancy.

This is my first serger. I'm thrilled with the instructional video it came with, the easy to use manual, and the quality of this machine. Nancy recommends practicing threading daily until you're comfortable. It didn't take long! Adjusting tensions is also clearly explained. It has a number of features I couldn't get without spending much more money and comes with lots of accessories. I easily found the needles online too. I can hardly wait to try out all the stitches this machine is capable of. I'm an experienced seamstress but a novice about serging. I feel confident I'll be able to use the EZ Lock without difficulty. I'm very happy with the speed and simplicity sewing is now. After researching every serger out there, I decided to purchase this EZLock by Sewing with Nancy. I am not disappointed. It serges beautifully, it is easy to thread and easy to adjust tensions. The DVD is so-so, most of it is blurry and out of focus, but you get the point of what they are showing. The instruction booklet is helpful, with many charts and suggestions on how to adjust tension setting, depending on the application. It doesn't do a coverlock stitch, so if you can live without that, I think this is an incredible value, as you also get an elastic foot and a blind hem foot included, along with other accessories. I would definitely recommend it!!
