I first hesistated in purchasing this toaster because I could not see the pics and wasn't sure how the stainless steel looked and was also concerned about the black plastic. After I saw a pic from the 2 slice toaster I decided to buy it. I am glad I did. This toaster is beautiful AND big. I am familiar with T-fal because I had an avant from about 7-10 years ago and only stopped working because one day I had a bright idea to clean it with water. BIG mistake dont do. Lol. Anyhoot, I uploaded some of my own pics which should be up on the site shortly. Enjoy!!! Once you see the pics you will get this and with the T-fal name you cant miss. We like both sides of our bread toasted and finding a toaster that does that is not an easy task. I read many reviews and finally settled on the T-Fal. When we took it out of the box I thought we were in trouble...it seemed to be cheaply made..no substance. However, we gave it a chance. We toasted a half of a loaf of bread and not once were both sides of the slice toasted. We tried different settings etc. So we put it back in the box and returned it. The good news..we hadn't thrown our old toaster away and, in addition, Amazon.com was very easy and efficient to deal with on the return. We have moved on to a Cuisinart that is working perfectly for us.Customer Review: Toaster Works Great

After reading so many bad reviews of so many other toasters, I noticed this toaster had what I thought the most positive feedback. Only thing I was unsure about was whether it was worth the extra money. Well after using now for a few weeks, I must say I am happy with the choice. It toasts things fine - from bagels, to toast, to english muffins. I really like the extra lift provided by the middle controls - no longer do we need to use something to reach inside and grab the toasted items. My only complaint is that the bagel and reheat buttons only affect the left 2 slots. So if you want to use these features for all four slots, you can't do so.Customer Review: Cadillac of toasters

If there is such a thing as a classy toaster, the T-Fal Avante is it. I grew up in a household where the toaster was always out on the counter, ready for use. After I got married, my wife insisted that our toaster only be in sight when it was being used, otherwise it was stored in the cabinet. On a trip to Montreal a few years later, we saw the T-Fal Avante and bought it. She liked the look of it so much that she agreed to let it sit out on the counter. That toaster lasted about 12 years, and when it would only toast on one side, we decided to get another one. This new model is even more elegant than our first one and toasts better too.Customer Review: Finally, a toaster that works the way it's supposed to.

After buying toaster after toaster and being sorely disappointed in each and every one of them, I've finally found THE toaster. I love this toaster and though a lot of reviews state that it's big, it's no wider than any 4 slice toaster I've had...and it certainly does fit in well with my stainless steel appliances.
I LOVE this toaster, there is not one thing about it that I don't love.
If you've been searching high and low for a toaster that toasts perfectly and you don't have to wait forever for that toast......this is the one to buy.
