Customer Review: THE TOASTER FROM HELL.-- Like Cards, It's the Luck of the Draw if Yours Works Properly.

THIS REVIEW WAS REWRITTEN AND STARS DOWNGRADED IN 2010
It seems in most reviewed items there is always 1 or 2 people that completely contradict every one else, I usually chalk it off as they just enjoy being contradictory or they have a personal vendetta or agenda or possably they got a lemon. But in this case over 40% or over 50 people grade this toaster 3 stars or less, myself included. No I have no agenda, vendetta and I am not someone who likes to contradict everyone for the pleasure of it. This toaster has major problems for 50 or so reviewers of it.
I originally was attracted to this toaster because of its features, plus it was different looking and extremely attractive.
When I first received it I knew it was not toasting evenly, which I chose to ignore and considered it a minor problem. Still thrilled with it's appearance, and other features I just flipped the bread over when one side was light and the other dark.
Next the black plastic push down knobs started flying off when the toast popped up, in fact one hit me in the chest. No big deal I thought I'll just push them back in and it won't happen again. " but it did ".
By this time it was past the Amazon return period, so I decided to tough it out. Also around this time I was diognosed with high sugar, consequently I started using smaller, thinner lower carb bread to keep my sugar down.
One morning I put a slice of this smaller bread in to toast, I was out of the immediate area but heard it pop up. When I went to get my toast it was not there, I thought I was imagining things since I was the only one up and no one could have taken it. I found out the toaster popped it completely out and it was laying on the floor 3 or 4 feet away.

Well the final end of this monster came conveniently after the 1 year warrantee was up. It stopped working completely, and in the garbage can it went. A befitting end for the Toaster From Hell. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of only 1, is that even in the garbage can it looked great. I guess it just show's, looks are deceiving.
What seems so strange to me is that nearly 60 percent of the reviewers rate it 4 or 5 stars, and evidently aren't having major problems with it. I have no reason to doubt so many people, but I also have no reason to doubt the over 40 percent " Including myself " that are having problems with this toaster. Like I said in my title, it seems it's the luck of the draw if yours works properly.

Well there is a sweet ending to a bitter story, I found an absolutely fantastic toaster. It's the "Haier TST240SS Stainless-Steel Long-Slot 4-Slice Digital Toaster" and it looks great, toasts evenly and has lots of features including a worming rack. After you hopefully give me a thumbs up on this somewhat entertaining review, go check it out and my review of it. Thanx.
