I got this just before Christmas and have used it daily. I love the different features on it.
Good Points
Does different heat settings with a very easy to understand knob.
Cordless Kettle and the base has storage for the cord underneath if you only need a short piece of the cord to reach the outlet.
Base is compact (love that)and you can put the kettle on in any direction since it is a circle.
Lid is easy to open and close.
Easy to fill
No exposed coils inside
Feels comfortable in my hand for pouring
I'm comfortable with letting my kids make their own hot chocolate using the kettle
I haven't seen any bad points at all. Great product.
Customer Review: tastes and smells of plastic

The water vapor given off by mine smells of plastic. The boiled water tastes and smells of plastic. And this after following the manufacturer's instructions, which state that a solution of water and baking soda should be boiled in order to remove any plastic smell or taste. I did that four or five times. I also boiled plain water in this kettle a dozen times or so. But the smell and taste remain. In fact, the smell is there even once the kettle is dried out. Clearly, the plastic of this kettle is releasing some kind of chemical into the water. The adverse taste of the water that is boiled in this kettle is so strong that the water or tea that is made with it is undrinkable. This is one of those products that once you have it, you wonder how you managed without it. Sure, you can boil water in the microwave, but this does it faster. If you use filtered water, you don't even have to deal with the mineral buildup in the pot. I use this everyday for tea and coffee or just very hot water when I need it. It is a great design and holds enough water for the uses i need it for. The only other item like this I might consider is a hot water dispenser that boils and holds hot water and then dispenses it as you need it. I saw somethng simular to that at a friends house and it has made me consider becoming more of a tea drinker. If you get this prouct, you won't be sorry. Being an avid tea drinker, after visiting Europe this summer and using many electric kettles, I wanted to purchase one upon my return. I couldn't be happier with the T-Fal Vitesses. Pros: cordless option, auto-shut-off, variable temperature. I only wanted to write this review to help folks with a small but fixable drawback: the intense, pervasive plastic taste in the water. The only thing that dispelled it was to fill the kettle half full with white vinegar, let it boil and cool down twice, add water to the vinegar until it was full, boil that once. After that, all the water tastes fresh and clean. I look forward to enjoying this product for many years, and already use it 1-4x daily with no issue.Customer Review: Only one to own

We're on our second T-Fal Vitesse Electric Kettle. The first one (a smaller version they no longer make) went to college with our son. It was about six years old at the time and 4 years and many cups of tea later, he's preparing to graduate. The kettle just keeps on working. Son #2 decided he wanted a less expensive brand when he went to college, but it stopped working before Christmas break so we replaced it with a T-Fal Vitesse. We've had our current kettle (this size, slightly different model) for 4 years and it gets heavy daily use - especially in the winter. I wouldn't bother to shop around - you've found the right kettle.
Additional note: Five years and still going strong.
