Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of T-Fal Vitesses 1.7L (7-Cup) Electric Kettle

Customer Review: Really pleased
Summary: 5 Stars

We are extremely pleased with our nifty T-Fal tea kettle. We owned another brand which expired after we picked it up without turning off the contact switch. The contact on the new kettle is a simpler concept (though I wouldn't recommend disengaging it from its base before it is switched off either). Also the other brand had open coils that gathered ugly lime deposit which ended up in the coffee..uggg. Our T-Fal has coils tidily sealed by a stainless steel disc. A little vinegar and water cleans it off just fine.Love the temp control. Lots of times you might not want or need boiling water.Every feature exudes "quality".How great is it to get very quick hot water plus be able to carry your tea kettle any where without the constraint of an electric cord? This is a winner!

Customer Review: Excellent Electric Kettle, Great Value
Summary: 5 Stars

We enjoyed our first electric kettle for about three years when it failed. My wife demanded a white one and we wanted the "cordless" feature like our old one. T-Fal;s kettle seemed ideal and so far we are very well pleased. It is good looking, well made and easy to use. The instruction booklet has very tiny, hard to read print but the operation is mostly intuitive. It is a great relief to not have to boil water on our gas range as we fear leaving it unattended. We drink a lot of coffee and tea and the kettle is used six to eight times each day. We had to wait a few weeks as Amazon had them on back order but were pleased to get the old lower price as it has now gone up about ten dollars. Looking forward to a long, happy life of fast, safe, HOT water.

Customer Review: FANTASTIC product!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't imagine anyone not loving this electric kettle. My first one was a gift, received about 5 years ago. It's used numerous times every day and still brings water to a boil as fast as it did for that first cup of tea. The microwave and stove lose the race to the T-Fal. Once the water is at the boiling point for about 15 seconds the kettle turns off automatically. That safety feature rates high on my list of kudos for this product. The handle is extremely comfortable, the pot is easy to fill and pour. We always take our T-Fal Electric Kettle with us when we travel(we have a 4 cup version as well as a 7 cup...I'm sorry they no longer make the small one). I've only been able to find them on line but believe me I never want to be without one.

Customer Review: Works as intended
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a good tea-kettle. Unpacked it out of the box, did a few boils to get the factory taste out and it's been working fine for the last few months with no plastic taste. I drink a lot of tea. I used to use Braun (can no longer find them) before which I liked but am liking T-Fal as well. I don't really have the need to use the variable temperature feature on this kettle but can see the benefit. The kettle feels durable, made of good quality and holds a good amount of water (1.7 liters). The holding tanks opens with a latch from the top and small click on the handle starts the boiling process. Boils pretty fast, using 1750 watts of power. Kettle looks pleasant to the eye. If it's 50$ or under, would definitely recommend buying it at that price.

Customer Review: Great value for the product
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased the T-FAL Vitesse 1750 Watts after a lot of research. I wanted a product that heated water quickly (like the ones in Europe), large capacity, swivel based, cordless, and not-too-expensive. This product fit my requirements and so far it's been great. I agree that it's unfortunately Chinese made (that I usually don't buy since they don't last) but all electric kettles seem to be (like most household products). A couple of negatives.... it's a little noisy when it's heating up the water, and takes about 30-60 secs. after the water starts boiling to auto-shut. Since the water boils rather quickly, I would recommend that you stand around and manually shut the switch for safety reasons. All in all I strongly recommend this product.
