After traveling the Europe I fell in love with these electric water kettles.
We used one at a relatives house in England and another at a relatives house in Ireland.
I ordered this one because of several features:
1) auto shut off
2) no open electic coils
3) outside of pot doesn't get hot
4) kettle comes off base, so that you don't have a cord hanging as you pour the water
5) T-Fal makes great products!
6) The water boils very fast and the tea is ready quickly
I am so happy with this product. It is far better than any of them I used in Europe. I am buying another one for my daughters dorm room. I know that the price is a little more than the other models, however; I think this product will last a long time and for something you use everyday it is better to invest in the "best".
I strongly recommend this electric kettle!!!

I am using this kettle for about a month now. Overall, I am completely satisfied with it - it does its simple job of boiling water well. To address some concerns:
- First few times water had some "plastic" taste, but my opinion that it has nothing to do with "plastic leaking into water". Anyway, it went away after maybe 5 times.
- Loud? Well, it does make typical electric kettle boiling sound, but I don't see how that can bother someone. I'd say it is even pleasant :))
- It is really fast. 0.7 liters boil in 2-3 minutes.
- The temperature regulator actually only means that you have two options: hot water and boiling water, which is enough, and quite useful.
- The cover is quite tender, so I see how it might brake if handled roughly. But with a tiny bit of care everything will be fine.
In sum, it's fast, reliable, cheap and good-looking. 5 stars from me.

I never had an electric kettle, always a stovetop one. I was really under the impression that the water didn't quite boil hot enough in the electric kettles, not like a 'real' kettle on the stove burner. But I was visiting my sister out of state before Christmas and she had a T-Fal electric kettle (a slighly different model). I saw how easy it was to use and how fast it boiled the water, and also boiled it to a very hot bubbly level. I kept saying to her how nice it was and that I wanted to get something like it.
When I got back home, my sister bought me this kettle (here at Amazon) for a Christmas present, and I have been using it ever since. I really like it. It is so fast and it is also very attractive on my kitchen counter. I use it just about every day.
I highly recommend this kettle. it boils water very fast and very hot, and I am very satisfied with it.

This kettle is great, heats up quickly. I ordered a new one because the on switch wouldn't stay down on the old one, I had to stand there and keep it pressed down until it had boiled, so I thought the kettle was done.
However, with the new one, if the water is slightly warm inside the kettle, the on switch won't stay down either which is slightly annoying since I like my tea in the morning, 3 cups, one after the other, so I find myself standing there holding down the switch. But now I think about it, the old one used to be the same ... so perhaps I shouldn't have bothered with a new one until that old one actually stopped heating the water.
So, although this kettle looks nice, and does work, and is good for the price (I think I paid about $60 for the last one) I think I'm going to try a different brand in the future, one where I don't have to babysit it.

I bought this water kettle due to the many good reviews on amazon. However, It turned out to be one of the worst water kettle I have ever owned. My previous water kettle lasted me a good 4 years and the only reason I tossed it was due to it becoming exceedingly dirty inside. The design of this kettle leaves a lot to be desired. I found the 3-way setting on the front ugly and pretty much useless. Moreover, the knob fell off after about 1 month of use. I've had it now for about 3 months and now the contacts are starting to fail so that it is not always obvious whether the kettle is actually on or not. My other kettle made a nice "ding" sound when it was done. There is no way to tell when this kettle is done except by the light on the front that is not always easy to see. In all, I'm not quite sure why it is rated as highly as it is. I give it a 1-star.
