Customer Review: After 1 year, it's still the toast of the kitchen.

We've given this two-slice toaster a pretty good workout in the past year. No problems whatsoever up to this point.
Let's go over the features quickly:
There are two option buttons between the two handles: "Reheat" and "Bagel".
The "reheat" does a good job without re-cooking your toast, by running about half of the heating elements on both sides of the slots, and the "bagel" button turns on 100% of just the inside (center) elements of the slots, which is handy for other things, too, such as English Muffins.
The thermostat is pretty accurate, the "Lifter" really works for aiding the removal of short slices, and if you push hard enough, you can actually launch the toast out of the machine- which is quite fun when you're in the mood for a flying toast.
Upkeep:
As with most brushed-steel appliances, it does show fingerprints easily, so if that's a concern, T-Fal now offers a black-sided version, and that would probably be a good one to consider. It does "leak" some breadcrumbs out of the bottom, but that is not a deal-breaker.
Sturdy, reliable, and reasonably priced, I am glad we got this Avante Toaster and would probably get one as a replacement if this one was stolen or hit by a falling meteorite.

Update your kitchen with the 1200 Watt T-Fal Avante Deluxe 2 Slice High-Speed Toaster, attractively designed in stainless steel with cool touch exterior. Two extra-wide self-adjusting toasting slots accommodate extra-thick bread slices, bagels and more. This toaster has a high-speed heating mechanism which toasts foods in less time than standard toasters. It also has lighted reheat and bagel functions and 7 browning levels. True to its name, the Avante High-Speed Toaster starts toasting almost immediately after pressing the lever. The angled front panel provides easy access to the toasting slots. There is also a separate "Hi-lift" lever which lets you grab smaller pieces of bread or pastry items without burning your fingers.
