Love it! I've had it since September 2004, no problems to report. It does have gray accents instead of yellow. Doesn't bother me!
This is great for my morning tea. I also use it to speed up heating water for boiling pasta. Half the water goes into the electric kettle, the other half into the pot on the stove. When the water in the kettle boils (way before the water on the stove) I pour it into the pot. Saves a LOT of time!

I, too, always wanted a FAST tea kettle like the ones in England - I thought it was something about our current here that made them all so dogggg slow. Then, on the recommendations here, I bought my first T-Fal. And wow. It's unbelievably fast, and the design is sweet. I had to buy another one for the office (the little one) - and then I bought another one for a house gift. And let me finish by saying that I was in London last month, and the tea kettle I had in the apartment there was pathetic! So, now the tables are turned! Love it love it.

I bought this as a replacement to my Bodum that had a base meltdown.
I would have given it 5 stars because of design, functionality, and price but compared to my other kettle, this one seems a little longer to boil and so much LOUDER. If you don't mind how loud it works, then its a great item.
UPDATE:
This item stopped working before having it a full year. It just stopped working!!! It was replaced with one I found in a mail order catalog ... that one is now over 3 years old.

I bought this pot for my tea-drinking husband. It has been one of the most wonderful purchases I have ever made. The water heats up very quickly and it takes very little counter space. Another wonderful feature is that it shuts itself off when the water boils so there is no boiling over of forgotten pots (a problem we have had frequently in the past). It also shuts itself off when picked up. The only down side is that it can sound a bit like a jet engine taking off when first heating up. All in all, a wonderful product.Customer Review: Handy, but not designed for daily use.

This tea kettle certainly boils quickly, which is wonderful. I used this kettle three to four times a day. Unfortunately, this tea kettle must not be made to be used so frequently. It quit working after nine months of daily use. I was lucky enough to purchase it when amazon.com was offering it for $19.99, so I wasn't out very much money. I would say if you are going to use it once a day or less, then it's probably a decent purchase, but any more than that, look to another tea kettle.
