I've had this kettle 2 years now and use it daily. It looks and functions like it did the day I bought it. It brings the water to a full boil and shuts off automatically. I think the steam triggers the shut off.
It's so fast, I no longer use my microwave when I make tea or hot chocolate. Sometimes I even boil eggs in it.
I love the fact that the cord is attached to the base and not the kettle. It makes it easy to fill. Once in a while I clean the inside with vinegar, because the water is hard here.
I drink a lot more tea now because this is so fast and easy to use. I'd buy this product again in a heartbeat.

This kettle is easy to use, boils water quickly, and looks nice. My old kettle was great, but it had metal spirals inside which quickly rusted. This one has a stainless steel plate on the inside bottom which is holding up great so far. Highly recommended!Customer Review: Glad there was an American version of this item

I just returned from Russia where I had an exactly identical Vitesse electric kettle. I liked it because it had a rotating base, and not just a single position in which to stand the kettle. Since the Tefal company is a French (European) company, I was afraid that it might not be available in a 110 volt model. But I purchased it anyway. This product does what it is meant to do very well. However, for the price I expected something a little more stylish and attractive and perhaps more solid. It feels and looks like a cheap plastic. For the price, I'm sure you can find something better.
