Customer Review: Raclette Heaven

We visited Germany and while there had the pleasure of eating off the raclette grill. We enjoyed it so much we ate off of it again before leaving. When we arrived back in the states I looked everywhere for this grill. I finally visited amazon.com and found the grill. Upon receiving the grill our son came over while we were using it and wanted one along with a few other friends. This is a great item. I would recommend it to everyone who likes to have fun meals.Customer Review: Nice introductory set

For the price, the T-Fal is not bad. The set does not come with spatula or turner so you need to get your own. The light coat of nonstick and the construction makes it feel durable enough for occational but not frequent use. The lack of variable temperature control makes it a little more work to just enjoy if you have to unplug and plug to prevent the food from burning.
I'm returning the T-Fal for something a little more heavy-duty, maybe the Swissmar.

I first used a raclette last year when I was visiting my family in England, My niece had been given one for a wedding gift and we all sat around one evening and cooked a variety of foods on it. I tried to find one while I was there but it had been purchased in Paris. I was thrilled to see one at amazon. I am buying it as a gift for my son and cannot wait to get it. I found this raclette grill to be just like the one that I had used while living in Europe. There is no temperature adjusting on this one but that really wasn't important to me. Mom cleaned up for me after using the grill and said it was very easy.
My family enjoyed using it and thought it would be great to have a raclette party when they returned home. Of course, they need to get there own first.

I was very diappointed with this grill. The set does not include any scrapers to scrape out the cheese, or any tongs to help you grill your food on the top grill. I was hoping for more from T-Fal. It's also very compact, which is great for storage, but horrible if 8 of you are trying to use the grill at the same time.
