Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of T-Fal 7822762 8-Tray Swiss-Style Raclette GrillCustomer Review: Fantastic Buy! Summary: 5 Stars
Like others writing reviews on this raclette grill, I discovered the tradition on my last trip to Germany. I was so happy to find this one at Amazon for the lowest price available. The best part is that it is manufactured in France. Others on the internet were "manufactured in China, using Swiss technology". The Chinese ones were also triple the price of this T-Fal model. I am extremely happy with this model, and feel that it would make a great wedding gift as well. It does not have an adjustable thermostat, but you don't really need one. It also heats up quickly which is nice, and is quite easy to clean.
Customer Review: RACLETTE RULES! Summary: 5 Stars
First tried raclette 7 years ago while I was studying abroad in Dijon, France (home of "Le Savoyard", the world's best raclette & fondue restaurant!). Been obsessed with the cheese ever since! When I returned to the States I had to get a machine for myself. Absolutely love my grill from T-Fal. I bought an earlier version about 5 years ago. It's perfect for enjoying raclette at home. Does what it needs to do....melts the raclette cheese! And everyone gets their own little tray. Non-stick grill and trays make for super-duper easy clean-up. If you love raclette....GET THIS GRILL!
Customer Review: Raclette specialist Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this unit for its "not too" expensive price. I have a concern however over the fact that the instruction manual specifically says not to leave the grilling plate without any food on it for more than 30 minutes. Usually, you eat raclette with the melted cheese, proscuitto ham and boiled potatoes. You DON'T need to cook something on the grill above. I was wondering how the people that use the unit deal with that problem? Are you forced to use the grill on top of the unit even though you are not interested in it?

Customer Review: Dinner time made fun! Summary: 4 Stars
We love it! Many reviews mention that they first used the Raclette
Grill while in Germany or France, we were first introduced to it
in Holland.
I would be a lot happier if T-fal would have included rubber tongs,
(not to long) and/or spatulas of some kind. I have had a more
difficult time finding some utensils for it than it took me to
find the grill!
It is so much fun for our family and friends, less time in the
kitchen for the usual cook too! Enjoy!
Customer Review: ... maybe "2 stars" -- because its inexpensive... Summary: 1 Stars
This grill is fine if you intend to eat raclette for fun once a year. But, if you eat raclette on a regular basis I'd recommend buying the heavier, more durable and reliable (and more expensive) model. As for performance, I found the T-Fal model heated too hot, too quickly and, since it doesn't have a temperature control, I had to control the heat buy plugging in and unplugging the unit throughout the meal -- not very conducive to a relaxing evening entertaining friends.
