My wife and I lived in Germany for four years and got very used to the dinner environment in Europe...later meals, spending hours at the table talking and enjoying good company, good food, and good wine (and beer). This grill lets you return to that European life style...you prepare small portions of your meal at a time, so your food is always hot, you can have some great conversation, and before you know it, 2-3 hours may have passed. The grill allows you to cook items in a small "skillet" on top of the grill, and/or broil under the grill. Some friends from the Netherlands introduced us to this grill two years ago...we have since purchased four...two for us, for larger parties, and two as gifts for family. This grill works well for abour 4-6 people, depending on the style of table. We use two grills for 8 people (one on each end) so it is not so difficult to place things on or under the grill from opposite ends of the table. Our friends have enjoyed this experience and several have subsequently ordered this grill too.Customer Review: Raclette Rocks!

What's more fun than a raclette party? I enjoyed raclette many years ago while traveling in Switzerland. And just recently, we were invited to a friend's home for a little raclette party. It brought back such good memories! The T-Fal raclette works perfectly well, in my opinion. I didn't think it cooked too quickly or at too high a temp as some have said. It's a very fun way to socialize with your pals, and not be stuck slaving in the kitchen. All the chopping can be done ahead of time, and I ordered my raclette pre-sliced from the deli.We had ham, shrimp, tomatoes, green onions, and mushrooms, and had diced dill pickles on the table for garnishment once the raclette is cooked, which I HIGHLY recommend. Also, while having raclette with our kids, we found that the younger kids seem to like more kid-friendly cheese- like co-jack. I think we'll make this our Christmas Eve family dinner tradition.

During a trip to France last year I was invited by a friend to join in a family meal -- a raclette, they called it, after the Swiss melting cheese many use when cooking foods on this type of electric table-top grill. We cooked a little ham, melted some cheese, toasted some bread and drank good wine, each of us preparing hot sandwiches to our liking on the raclette grill at the center of the table. It was as much fun as cooking outdoors and a great way to break the ice with people I had just met. A real conversation starter, and the meal was fabulous. Upon returning home, I searched for this grill on the Internet, found T-Fal, and was delighted to see that they offered a 120V/60Hz version. My family really enjoys it, especially the kids, and it is very easy to clean. Highly recommended.Customer Review: A good price

I found this while looking for raclette grills to replace my Stöckli 4-person grill, which has been outgrown despite having served us well. This appears to be an excellent buy. Most raclette grills do not have temperature controls since the process is to grill the cheese and then serve it over your cold meats (sopressata, bressaola, coppacola, anchovies) and potatoes (www.raclette-suisse.ch has more recipes for those new to this dish). Raclette has become a pizza substitute for us since my wife is gluten sensitive and there are lots of ways to enjoy raclette. One barrier to the enjoyment of this in the US has been the price, which this grill provides a very good inexpensive grill that is good for parties or large families.Customer Review: Raclette Grill Tefal: great!

We received the raclette just on time.
It is just a great raclette grill. Not only you can grill cheese, but also vegetables, shrimps, tofu etc on the top plate. Of course the top plate is working well too to keep your baked potatoes warm in a bowl.
Well, the raclette is working well, it's easy to clean and pretty light to carry. Easy to store in its box as well.
We just had to buy small spatulas to "slide" the melted cheese from the small skillets as you do not want to scratch them since there are T-Fal.
And hey, people we have invited so far for a Raclette Party have been delighted!!
