Customer Review: heavy duty, but awkward

Yes, it's a battleship. You could pound nails with this thing. But the position of the wire relative to the roller is weird. I didn't think I would mind it, but as it turns out I just can't get used to it. Instead of being "out at the tip" of the device, the wire is almost below the roller. Picture this: if you set the thing down flat on the counter, the handle, the roller, and the wire are all actually touching the surface of the counter. It's awkward to use, at least for me.
And the knobs that lock the adjustable roller in place are lame. You can't tighten them enough to get them to stay in place. Maybe with pliers?
That would make a good Amazon combo... "frequently bought together: this fine cheese slicer and these lovely slip-joint pliers!"
I'd have been happier with another cheapo, non-adjustable cheese slicer that had the wire out at the end where it belongs.
