Customer Review: Guess what? This thing makes BETTER coffee!!

With some trepidation and doubt, I ordered a Swissgold filter in hopes of reducing the annoying sediment that I was getting with my stock Cuisinart "gold" filter. After all, this thing runs nearly $30...almost half what my coffee maker cost!! (then again, I drink 100% Kona from Costco which runs $13 a pound). Well, lo and behold, this thing really works. My coffee tastes much better, smoother, cleaner, and no more mud in the bottom of my cup or the pot. Highly recommended if you care about your coffee. Just make sure you don't bang it around or put dents in it. Replacing it is painful.

I always used paper filters until ordering this Swissgold permanent filter. The gold filter works very well and is better than paper. I use it with a Krups 12 cup carafe-style coffee maker. I don't grind my own beans; I use either pre-ground premium brands (e.g., Starbuck's, Seattle's Best, etc.), or I grind beans from local roasters at the supermarket using the supermarket grinder on the drip setting. With the Swissgold filter, the coffee definitely has superior flavor compared to paper filters. With the coffees I use there is no "sludge" coming through the filter.Customer Review: late bloomer

I am extremely happy with the coffee filter. I have known about these filters for some time and it took living overseas, where cone filters are a rarity, to convince me buy one for my personal use. The filter is easy to clean and I will probably never use a paper filter again, unless I have no other option. As much coffee as I drink, I have made a contribution to the life of one tree. I am in my late fifties, so better late than never, in switching to a permanent filter. Try it you'll like it.Customer Review: Great reusable filter

I've been using this filter everyday for 2 months and there is no disappointments.Fits in the coffee makers basket like it should and is made with real gold on metal and not nylon like some filters.I keep it clean using non-detergent dish soap and a soft used toothbrush.Highly recommend this filter over all the others, may cost a little more,but it is worth it.swissgold® KF 4 Cone-Shape Coffee FilterCustomer Review: Works As Well As Cheaper Ones

I did not notice any difference in performance (coffee flavor, etc) with this filter vs. my old $10 cheap gold filter. The old one still works fine but it's over 3 years old and I figured I'd give this a try. It is, however, constructed better than the cheap ones and includes a height adapter for large capacity coffeemakers (mine's a 10-cup and it just about fits without the adapter). In spite of the sturdier construction, in my opinion it does not warrant 3X the price.
