Customer Review: Great seal, blends super well, no leaking

I've been around the block when it comes to shaker bottles. I've used the low end ones from bodybuilding.com, and even the higher end ones with the stick of ice that cools the liquid while you workout. I ordered two Blender Bottles for my husband and I, and was excited to receive them in the mail because of their stellar reviews. Before these, we had been using the cheap $3 bottles along with a magic bullet at home. After the first trial, my husband swears that this mixes as well as the magic bullet. Our protein shakes consist of a couple scoops of protein, milk, and a scoop of peanut butter. The lid screws on perfectly. No more having to get the lid on "just right" before closing. Gone are the days where I have protein shake strewn about my clothes because the lid looked like it was closed. The whisk ball does an awesome job of making sure everything is perfectly blended. This product is fantastic.Customer Review: Definitely a choking hazard.

I keep choking on metal whisk ball. Though maybe if I kept the lid on or didn't open my mouth so wide when I drank, it wouldn't happen but I'm not changing the way I drink even if it kills me.
If you use the product as intended, which is basically to mix powdered drinks ( I used it on Gold Standard Whey Protein)and drink it through the sizable hole in the lid, the thing works great. I was a little skeptical that the whisk ball would be able to mix the powder enough but it does so very throughly. Really good size too.
Tip: make sure you completely push down the white cap that covers the drinking hole before shaking. It can be pushed down and stay but not be completely secured. And then you get a little splashing when it's not all the way snapped in. Make sure to hear that *snap*.

I have been using this shaker for almost a week now, and I'm neither happy nor unhappy with it. As for me, I drink bottled water everyday, and I find that mixing my protein powder with milk is easier in the empty water bottles than in the shaker. I don't have to bother with cleaning, which is real easy, and I can just recycle the bottle after workout. The metal ball is useless, even though my shake is pretty thick (almost as thick as melted ice cream). If you drink bottled water regularly, I suggest that you use your empty bottles to prepare your shake. That $7.00 could be used to buy more protein powder instead of an unnecessary utensil. However, if you can't get a hold of any empty bottle, this shaker is a not a bad investment.
*Make sure you put the liquid in before the protein powder.

This is a pretty simple item really- not a lot to go wrong. The devil (or in this case, greatness) is in the details though.
First- easy to clean. I have big hands and the mouth of the bottle with the lid off is easy to reach all the way to the bottom and clean this thing thoroughly. Anybody who has forgotten to clean his/her protein bottle knows just how nasty they can smell if not kept clean so this is important.
Second- the stay-open lid thing works both ways- pop it open and it doesn't topple into your face or get in the way. Pop it closed and it STAYS closed. I've never had even a drop shake loose from it even using hot water for cleaning.
It's a simple system- not a lot to go wrong but the little things make this go from a 4- to a 5-star rating.

So i've been through several shakers and other bottles of sorts to try and drink from and this is hands down the best i've found. It doesn't leak, the lid seals tightly so you don't have to worry about it opening and the cap is sturdy enough to where it won't warp in a dishwasher or anything. The sound of the ball is a little annoying if carrying the bottle around with you all day in a backpack, but somehow it works wonders when making a drink. Can shake mass gainer or protein to an almost milk-shake consistency in less than a minute. Scents don't seem to linger in it as much as others either, but that may just be me. A slightly larger one would be nice depending on your purposes. Plan to buy an additional one or two.
