I am not a big fan of specialty appliances, but this is definitely a "must have". It boils water in about 20 seconds, so there are endless beverage uses for it(tea, hot chocolate, etc...). But I've also found TONS of other times it has come in handy. I've used it to make instant oatmeal almost every day for the last three years! It still heats the water as quickly as the day we got it. The machine itself is slim and only takes up a minimal amount of counter space. Now that I've had one, I know I couldn't do without it.Customer Review: Wouldn't be without it

I love my Hot Shot. I bought the first one back in the "80's" and it looked it. Last year I moved that one upstairs to the media room and bought a new one for the kitchen. A couple recently saw me using the new one and the husband asked me about it. He thought it was great so I decided to buy them one. To my surprise, I couldn't find one anywhere. Now they are back in stock on Amazon (at a higher price). I truly hope these won't be a thing of the past. I use it at least a couple of times every day for tea.Customer Review: Once you use one, you can't be without one!

I bought one at a local discount store about fifteen years ago. It received heavy use and gave no problems until recently when it finally stopped heating. Since Walmart had driven all of the local dicounters out of business and stopped stocking it (I think the price is too low for the profit to be large)I had to go back to using a tea kettle to heat water. What a letdown! Nothing else heats water nearly as fast and cost so little. The internet seems the best (and only) place to order it. I will never be without one.Customer Review: excellent!

I've had this product for over 10 years, but in the course of moving, it was damaged. That is the only reason I purchased a new one. It is the best kitchen appliance I've ever had. I highly recommend this product to everyone interested in having a hot, and fast drink, whether it be instant coffee, soup, cocoa, etc. It is convenient, safe and easy to operate, and you have a hot drink in a little over a minute. appliance in the kitchen! This will be the 3rd "Hot Shot" I've owned over the last 25 years. (That's right - 25 years!)The 1st died after 7 years and my 2nd worked for an amazing 18 years. I've become so dependent on these little babies that when the last one gave up the ghost my immediate reaction was a befuddled, "OK, how do I heat just one cup of water?" If you frequently want to heat just one cup water (dorm, office, etc.), your life will be much less complicated after purchasing one of these.
