Customer Review: Could use some updates.

This is the fourth Hot Shot I have purchased- this one I got for work. Although I like what it does, my initial Hot Shot was a little taller, and a little better made. Tall cups do not fit underneath the dispenser, so if you'll have to add another step if you're trying to fill a travel mug.
Also, when you dispense, the whole top part bends forward. My home Hot Shot does this a little, but not nearly as much as this one. I think it's more cheaply made.

When I got the unit and filled it with water the water started leaking out before I could turn it on.
I checked the dispenser valve and found it was NOT tightly installed. I fixed it and now the unit works great.
They need better quality control on the valve assembly. I have seen where others have just sent the unit back for this same problem.
Amazon got the unit to me quicker than I expected.... So I am now enjoying my tea time.

We have owned this product for several years. My daughter insisted on one to take to college. Her roommate, when she transfered out, asked for one as a going-away present. It is a great little appliance and I am so happy it is now in black as we are just about the renovate our kitchen and the white wouldn't have match. However, if it was just in white my wife would have insisted on it anyway - matching or not. We can't imagine not having it handy every day.Customer Review: Disappointed

While so far this works as well as the older model I broke after 12 years, I'm disappointed because it won't take my tall mugs. I have a set of favorite mugs that are taller than normal - 4.5" tall - and they don't fit under the dispenser. They fit fine under the old one. I also don't like that the lever you push to dispense the hot water dips down so far because it dunks right inside the wider soup mugs. If your mugs are all standard size, you'll love it.Customer Review: wait and wait

I purchased this because another woman in my office has one that she purchased about 20 (yes 20) years ago. We use it SEVERAL times a day EVERY day. I wanted to have one at home, too.
The "2010" version is a piece of crap! You have to wait like 8-10 minutes before you can start another cup (in case you are making a couple cups for guests....etc) Anyway, I am not impressed what so ever. Goes back to the old saying "they dont make things like they use to!"
