These were the first E.S.E pods that I had purchased for my Krups espresso machine. I had never tried them, but I trusted the Starbucks named based on their reputation for great coffee. Once I received them, I didn't hesitate to test them in my machine! I was not disappointed. The flavor was great and the crema was perfect. I used these for espresso alone, lattes (plain and vanilla), and caramel macchiato (both hot and iced). I was highly satisfied with the outcome every time. Needless to say, I used these up quickly and needed more. Regrettably, I opted for another brand that was a slightly better value for the price. The other brand, which I am drinking at the moment, does not nearly live up to the standard of these Starbucks pods. The espresso is hit or miss. Sometimes it comes out as yellow water into the cup, even though I put the pod in the exact same way each time. I never had this problem with the Starbucks pods. They appear to be the same size. The flavor is weak and just wasn't what I was looking for after using the Starbucks brand. Unfortunately, I still have a box and a half to get through before I have to re-purchase. I will most definitely be purchasing these the next time around.

What is an espresso pod? A pod is a measured portion of ground espresso, compressed between two biodegradable filter paper sheets. By using an espresso maker specifically designed for use with pods, the pod allows anyone to make an excellent shot of espresso in no time. Pods are easy to use, convenient and mess free, providing a consistently delicious freshly brewed shot of espresso.These espresso pods are not compatible with single-serve pod coffee makers, such as Philips Senseo, Melitta One:One, Bunn My Caf?? or Mr. Coffee HomeCaf??.Starbucks espresso pods measure 54 mm across from the edge of the filter paper to the other. It is 43 mm across the section containing the coffee and 9 mm thick. These pods will fit all espresso pod machines except E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) and Nespresso pod machines.
